Blitz

I had just brought up the courage to register myself for the PCA-MSNPP Blitz Tournament this Sunday (16th Dec). Since I cannot play blitz, my objective is to get 4.5/9 although the more the merrier… :D

May the force be with me :)

GP Finale: Performance Review

PCA Grand Prix Open Final was concluded on Sunday with Tan Khai Boon finishing first. Overall my performance was not the best. I started as the third seed (according to the best of 2 GP points) but only managed to finish at sixth.

I hadn’t had time to analyse those games but let’s look at some overview of my round by round review.

1 move blunder

I lost to Evan Timothy at both PCA Grand Prix Open 1st Leg and 2nd Leg.

GP1 was a blunder in an inferior position. But at GP2, I got following position as Black.

Black was a healthy pawn up and after some nice play in the middle game. Now instead of …Nc2, I played Bxe5?? and my position collapse in a few moves thanks to all the dark square weaknesses and a few minutes left on my clock.

Luckily Evan was not available for GP3 as he was playing in the ASEAN Youth event otherwise I might get hat trick loses against him! :D

Idle AGAIN!

I know I have to stop giving excuses to myself but I just couldn’t help it. It had been more than 1 month since I do any practice. That is one of the reasons my play was lacking in GP1, GP2 and GP3…
