Pawn Structure Chess
I went missing for awhile to take a break from chess after Merdeka Open. Well, days had become busy after few days of break.![]()
In between, I took my own sweet time to go shopping and found something interesting.
If you had read my previous posts, you would probably found that I always get those classics as they are not too expensive and good.
Yes, if you can read the thumbnail correctly, the book is “Pawn Structure Chess” written by Andrew Soltis.
The content is basically as below:
- how to handle the characteristic pawn structure of each opening family
- how to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of pawn chains
- when to exchange pawns in the center
- how to cramp your opponent’s position and what to do if your opponent cramps yours
- how to create and exploit pawn weaknesses
Various reviews has mentioned about reading this book is a must so, I bought it.
Well, for my level, anything is useful.
Happy reading!
Another look at the cover of the book.
