August the Chess Month
August, for most Malaysian chess players is a busy month as we have loads of tournaments as GilaChess name it August - Memang Gila Chess Month! over his blog.
For me, however, this month will not be too busy for me…
Getting a day off my work in this month is quite difficult as my one and only team member, my boss is on long vacation to go back to his home town.
Hence my default plan of playing in the Malaysia Open had to be cancelled and I can only play in weekend tournaments this month. :(Â Some tournaments that I will play this month:
Gerik Open, Perak, on 11th August which is day after today.
Merdeka Open Team Championship which incidently falls on the weekend.
